I know I’m terribly late with the next several installments of Warborn Legacy. I wish there was an explanation that didn’t sound like an excuse. Unfortunately, all I can say is that my muse—some of you know her as Myrtle the Evil Muse—once again ambushed me. She tends to do this after every new release. It doesn’t matter if I’m already working on another novel. At least this time, she did so with a story that actually has at tenuous connection with the current WIP.
I think part of the reason Myrtle pushed her way in is because I am still working on fixing a couple of plot points in the first third of the WIP. I think I have it figured out, but clearly Myrtle isn’t convinced. Whether she is or not, the snippets will resume later this week. In the meantime, here’s a bit of a hint about what I’ve been up to.
For more of a hint, if you’ve read the Honor & Duty series, you might recognize the name Evangeline Elizabeth Cordova.
Each of the images represent a scene or section of not only the book Myrtle ambushed me with, but the other two titles in the series. Yes, you read that right. Two more titles. I finally managed to get her to go back to her nap by spending much of last week making in-depth notes, setting up some inspiration images like the ones above, and doing some research. Now, finally, she’s let me get back to Warborn Legacy.
That said, I am excited to get to this project. It is a true origin story in a number of ways. It tells the beginning of what became a family tradition of family service to Fuercon, most often in the military. It doesn’t just drop the lead character into the conflict as a fully developed adult, as a trained (or at least semi-trained) Marine or similar member of the military. It starts with an average family helping settle a newly opened area of a planet that has yet to see its first century of human settlement. When all hell breaks loose, no one is really prepared for it. How they survive—or not—is up to them.
Bur, for now, it is time to get back to Warborn Legacy. Look for snippets tomorrow and Friday. Then we will get back to the regular schedule.
Until later!
